Job summary

HorseShoe Beverage Company in Radford, VA seeks a Full Time Quality Inspector to perform quality inspections and testing across multiple product lines. Responsibilities include leading Lot Acceptance Testing, data collection, and submission of QA documentation.

Candidates must meet the education/experience requirements and obtain QA certification. Base pay is $19.00 per hour, with ability to work overtime and alternate shifts as needed to ensure QA coverage.

Qualifications

  • Must have an Associate's Degree in a STEM field with 4+ years in manufacturing/quality assurance OR a HS diploma with 6+ years in manufacturing/quality assurance.
  • Certified Quality Inspector certification required OR ability to obtain within 1 year of employment and maintain it.
  • Must pass QA entrance test with a score of 80% or higher.
  • Must pass SIP tests with a score of 80% or higher after training.
  • Must understand and use a VL Chart and testing requirements.
  • Must read and understand Allocation Reports and be able to calculate weights and measurements.
  • Must read and understand procedures and have familiarity with manufacturing and quality practices.
  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality inspections and roving inspections on two main product lines or combinations as described.
  • Perform all aspects of product testing.
  • Lead Lot Acceptance Testing.
  • Collect, review and submit Lot Acceptance Testing data.
  • Complete and submit pre-wetting forms.

Description

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must have an Associate's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) related field with at least four years of experience in manufacturing/quality assurance OR have a High School Diploma/GED with at least six years of experience in manufacturing/quality assurance.
2. Certified Quality Inspector certification required OR the ability to obtain within one year of employment and maintain certification and demonstrate proficiency in that capacity.
3. Must be able to successfully pass QA entrance test with a score of 80% or better.
4. Must be able to successfully pass various Standard Inspection Procedure (SIP) tests with a score of 80% or better upon completion of procedural training.
5. Must be able to understand and use a VL Chart and understand testing requirements.
6. Must be able to read and understand the use and placement of Allocation Reports.
7. Must be able to calculate weights and measurements.
8. Must be able to read and understand procedures.
9. Familiarity with manufacturing and quality practices are preferred.
I 0. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

11. Must be able to read at Level 4 on the Graham-Field Eye Test Card (Jaeger Eye Test)
12. Must be able to receive clearance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BA TFE).
13. Must be able to work overtime or alternate shift schedule, if needed to provide QA coverage with minimal notice.
14. Must possess a valid driver's license.
15. Must be able to perform QA inspections and testing at various locations of the facility which may require use of personal or company vehicle.
16. Must be able to work and communicate well at all levels.
17. Must work well under the pressure of ensuring that requirements and specifications are maintained in an everchanging environment.
18. Must be courteous, tactful, and objective while working to ensure that quality and service objectives are maintained throughout the organization.
19. Must have the ability to make judgments based on factual data, work with minimal supervision, and manage multiple projects and tasks.
20. Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.
21. Must have knowledge in basic blueprint reading.
22. Must be signed off on two main product lines OR one main product line and two minor product lines OR one

main line and perform incoming inspections on all incoming product within 4 months of hire.
23. Must be signed off on all aspects of product testing within 90 days of hire.
24. Must be able to lead Lot Acceptance Testing for all lines.

JOB DUTIES:
