Job summary

Halo Group is seeking a seasoned QA Automation Engineer in New York to drive end-to-end automation across REST/SOAP services. You will write Java-based automation scripts, develop Gherkin-based scenarios, and collaborate with QA, BSA, and development teams to ensure in-sprint delivery.

Strong CI/CD and Jira experience are essential. Eligible candidates bring 6+ years in SDLC, 5+ years with Cucumber automation, and a solid background in OO languages.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience working with full SDLC
• 5+ years of hands on experience with automation development using Cucumber
• 3+ years of experience as a software developer using any one Object oriented language (Java, C, etc.)
• WRITE Scripts in JAVA Along with WebServices Testing (Using Automation Tools) (Cucumber)
• knowledge of quality assurance principles, technique and tools desired
• experience in participating in SCRUM team as a test engineer
• hands on experience with Test cycle management tools like JIRA
• working knowledge on CI tools like Jenkins / Bamboo
• Experience in testing SOAP / REST services
• Must be detailed oriented and capable of analyzing issues from the perspective of customers/users
• Must work collaboratively with BSA/developers and proactively identify defects during each iterations / Sprint
• Experience in Database automation like Cassandra and Hadoop
• Partner with QA, BSA and development team for dependencies - to ensure "In-Sprint" automation
• Participate in planning and daily Stand-Up meetings with QA/BSA to understand requirements, define automation scope and plan for deliverables
• Partner with development to build page-objects for automation scripts early in Sprint cycle for quick turnaround
• Work with QA on creating Features and Scenarios for each story
• Create step definitions for Gherkins written by QA engineer
• Identify the common Gherkin and include it in the Gherkin directory
• Work parallel with QA engineer to create test scenario
• Resolve issues discovered by QA/BSA during Sprint
• Demo automated scripts to Scrum team
• Facilitate CI for scenarios tagged as regression
• Analyze CI failures and work with QA/BSA to log defects as needed

Mandatory Skills

6+ years of experience working with full SDLC

5+ years of hands on experience with automation development using Cucumber
