Job summary

JBS USA is seeking a QA Technician in Moberly, MO, to perform quality inspections of processing environments, product quality, and packaging. You will segregate non-conforming product and document all inspection results to drive improvements in food safety and quality.

The role includes pre-op checks, HACCP and GMP compliance monitoring, and collecting lab samples per customer requirements. A Bachelor’s in Animal Science or related field is preferred, with strong communication skills and

• Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Production-related experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical observations of the processing environment, quality of product, and packaging defects; notify necessary personnel of variations or defects.
• Segregate and secure any product not meeting food safety or quality criteria.
• Record all results/data from inspections and monitoring activities.
• Provide written and verbal observations to drive improvement of food safety and quality compliance.
• Perform pre-op inspection to ensure machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized for production; ensure staff perform duties safely.
• Monitor HACCP programs, CCP monitoring, SSOPs, and GMP compliance by employees.
• Collect samples for the lab per customer requirements, including microbiological samples.

• Pre-op inspection to monitor and confirm that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized for efficient production; and that employees are performing required duties in a clean and safe manner
• Monitor and verify compliance to HACCP programs, CCP monitoring, SSOP’s, and employees for compliance with GMP’s
• Collect samples for the lab at a frequency consistent with new and existing customer requirements, including collecting microbiological samples

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science or related field, or equivalent experience
• Previous experience and technical knowledge in a variety of production jobs

• Ability to work independently without constant supervision
• Ability to speak multiple languages preferred

• Frequently required to be on their feet; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear
