Job summary

ALPLA Group in Iowa City is seeking an entry-level Lab Technician to support product and process verification, quality systems, data management, and problem solving. You will perform basic testing, complete inspections, and help maintain documentation while growing skills through hands-on training and development programs.

  • Experience: 0–1 year with physical lab testing equipment preferred.
  • Skills: basic computer skills, good teamwork, and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic bottle testing and verify customer specifications.
  • Complete routine quality checks and paperwork.
  • Assist in data management and document handling.
  • Support RCAs and problem solving for nonconforming products.
  • Meet training and performance metrics as assigned.

  • Knows ALPLA bottle terminology
  • Conducts bottle testing and understands customer specifications

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Education: minimum education of a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: 0-1 year of experience with physical lab testing equipment, preferred
  • Skills: computer basics, passing ALPLA assessment scores, ability to work well with others,good decision making will minimal supervision, ability to multi-task, good organizational skills

Physical Demands
  • The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk and hear.

  • The employee must regularly lift and/ or move up to 10 lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 30 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs.
