The position requires a commitment to understanding and exhibiting Titan’s Mission and Core Values, being a safety leader, following safety rules, federal and state laws and regulations as well as representing the company in a professional, courteous manner at all times. This role emphasizes ensuring the integrity, safety, and regulatory compliance of welding operations and pressure testing on pipelines, facilities, pressure vessels, and associated structures. The ideal candidate possesses in-depth knowledge of key industry standards, particularly ASME B31.3 and a strong dedication to delivering high-quality welds and successful hydrostatic tests in challenging field environments.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Conduct visual inspections of welds and welding processes to ensure adherence to project specifications, Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), and relevant codes.
  • Verify that fabrication (piping, structural components, vessels, and facilities) is built correctly in accordance with isometric drawings (ISOs), P&IDs, and approved fabrication drawings.
  • Oversee and/or assist with bolting up and unbolting piping systems in preparation for and following hydrostatic testing, ensuring proper torque sequences, gasket alignment, and flange integrity.
  • Review and qualify welding procedures, welder performance qualifications, and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR).
  • Monitor welding activities, including pre-weld setup, in-process parameters (e.g., interpass temperatures, fusion quality, travel speed), and post-weld treatments.
  • Coordinate and witness Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods, including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), and Radiographic Testing (RT); interpret results and approve or reject welds as appropriate.
  • Perform and witness hydrostatic testing (hydrotesting) of pipelines, vessels, and facilities, verifying test procedures, pressure hold durations, gauge/recorder calibration, and comprehensive documentation in line with ASME B31.8, BB1.3, API standards, and client requirements.
  • Detect defects in welds or tests, issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and propose corrective actions.
  • Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards on oilfield sites, including proper PPE usage, safe welding practices, and secure pressure testing protocols.
  • Maintain thorough inspection records, weld maps, hydrotest reports, charts, and quality documentation for full traceability and audit readiness.
  • Partner with welders, supervisors, engineers, hydrotest technicians, and third-party inspectors to address issues and meet project deadlines.
  • Perform routine audits of welding equipment, consumables, calibration records, and hydrotesting tools (e.g., pumps, charts, psv).
  • Perform other duties as directed by management.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Active Welding Inspector (CWI) certification (required).
  • Experience with pipeline welding and hydrostatic testing standards (strongly preferred).
  • 3–5+ years of welding inspection and QC experience in oil and gas, ideally involving pipelines, facilities, or oilfield construction, with hands-on hydrotesting involvement.
  • Additional certifications preferred: NDT Level II (UT, MT, PT, RT), CPWI+, ASNT Hydrostatic Tester, or coatings inspection (e.g., NACE/BGAS).
  • Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, welding symbols, P&IDs, isometric drawings (ISOs), and hydrotest isometric drawings.
  • Familiarity with common oilfield welding processes (e.g., SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW), hydrotesting protocols, and bolted joint assembly practices.
  • Solid understanding of safety standards (e.g., OSHA, H2S awareness, SafeLand, pressure testing safety).
  • Willingness to work in remote oilfield locations, including rotational schedules, outdoor/extreme weather conditions, and travel as needed.
  • Strong communication skills for clear reporting and effective team collaboration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Bluebeam Revu or equivalent software.
  • CAD background preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver's license; ability to pass background checks, drug screens, and fit-for-duty assessments.
