Job description

The QA/QC Manager leads quality assurance and quality control for large-scale, hyperscale data center construction projects. This role oversees how work is planned, installed, inspected, and turned over to meet client expectations, owner standards, and mission-critical performance requirements.

Working closely with construction, safety, commissioning, and trade partners, the manager leads the project quality team, resolves quality issues, reduces rework, and supports successful project delivery from kickoff through handover.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and implement the site QA/QC program from project kickoff through handoff, aligning project-specific quality plans with contract requirements and corporate standards.
  • Lead a team of quality professionals responsible for site evaluations, reporting, and project-specific quality planning.
  • Lead and document inspections with subcontractors and vendors across structural, architectural, civil, and mission-critical MEP systems.
  • Ensure proper inspection and testing of underground utilities, concrete, steel, prefabricated assemblies, and specialty systems.
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, and project requirements for compliance with contract documents, codes, and standards.
  • Conduct constructability and quality reviews during preconstruction and early trade coordination.
  • Monitor installation methods and workmanship, applying Built-in Quality and lean project delivery practices to reduce punch list items, rework, defects, and waste.
  • Communicate quality requirements to project teams, subcontractors, and vendors. Coordinate quality matters and issue resolution with client representatives and the site construction manager, and lead weekly QA/QC meetings.
  • Coordinate receipt inspections and oversee third-party testing and inspection agencies.
  • Manage quality records, inspection reports, test results, and deficiency logs in project management software. Distribute relevant QA/QC records and collect required documentation from trade partners for project files.
  • Track and report quality KPIs, including defect trends, rework costs, and inspection performance.
  • Issue and track nonconformance reports (NCRs) and root cause corrective actions (RCCAs), complete site quality control instructions, and support timely remedial responses.
  • Participate in internal and external site audits and support corrective actions.
  • Compile and complete as-built handover documentation, including O&M manuals, turnover packages, and other client closeout requirements.
  • Ensure quality representatives actively support project safety programs and initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7 years of QA/QC management experience in large-scale construction, including at least 3 years on mission-critical or hyperscale data center projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong knowledge of construction codes, standards, and specifications, including ICC, NFPA, AISC, ASHRAE, IEEE, and NEC.
  • Familiarity with owner standards and requirements for hyperscale clients such as Meta, Google, Microsoft, and Amazon.
  • Proficiency with construction management software, including Autodesk Forma, BIM 360, Bluebeam, and CMiC.
  • NFPA 70E certification (Arc Flash training).
Preferred Certifications
  • ASQ Certified Quality Manager, current AWS-CWI, CQM-C (USACE/NAVFAC), or ICC certification.
