Description

The QC/QA Manager leads quality assurance and quality control activities for semiconductor tool installation and qualification projects, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with project specifications, client requirements, applicable industry standards, and established quality procedures. This role provides project-level quality leadership across construction, tool installation, inspection, testing, documentation, and turnover activities within semiconductor fabrication environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and maintain the project Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO requirements, client standards, project specifications, and applicable semiconductor industry standards.
• Develop, implement, and maintain project Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), inspection procedures, checklists, and documentation controls.
• Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspections for semiconductor tool installation and associated construction activities.
• Provide quality oversight of contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure compliance with project quality requirements.
• Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Corrective Action Reports (CARs), root cause investigations, and corrective/preventive actions through verification and closure.
• Monitor quality performance and maintain project Quality KPIs, inspection metrics, NCR trends, audit findings, and compliance reporting.
• Lead supplier and vendor qualification activities, performance reviews, quality evaluations, and corrective action management.
• Plan, coordinate, and lead internal, external, supplier, and client-facing quality audits.
• Review drawings, specifications, installation packages, inspection records, material documentation, and turnover packages for quality compliance.
• Partner with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operations, Commissioning, and Project Management teams to resolve technical quality issues and maintain project requirements.
• Provide quality oversight for welding, materials control, equipment installation, tool hook-up, testing, and other applicable construction activities.
• Ensure inspection and testing documentation is properly completed, maintained, and incorporated into final turnover packages.
• Identify quality trends, recurring deficiencies, and opportunities for continuous improvement across project teams.
• Support commissioning, system turnover, and tool qualification activities to ensure installations meet quality requirements prior to acceptance.
• Develop, mentor, and provide technical direction to Quality Engineers, QC Inspectors, and other project quality personnel.
• Promote a strong quality culture across the project and ensure quality expectations are clearly communicated to employees, contractors, and subcontractors.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant field experience may be considered.
• 7+ years of quality assurance/quality control experience in semiconductor manufacturing, semiconductor construction, tool installation, advanced manufacturing, or other high-tech project environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading project-level QA/QC programs and quality teams.
• Strong knowledge of semiconductor construction, tool installation, tool hook-up, commissioning, qualification, or related fabrication facility activities.
• Working knowledge of semiconductor processes and environments, including wafer fabrication, assembly, testing, packaging, or tool integration.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems; IATF 16949 experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience managing NCRs, CARs, root cause analysis, audits, supplier quality, materials control, welding quality, inspections, and construction quality processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, technical documentation, inspection requirements, and project quality standards.
• Strong understanding of quality documentation, inspection records, traceability requirements, and turnover documentation.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Previous QA/QC management experience on semiconductor fab, tool installation, or advanced manufacturing projects.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification or equivalent auditing experience.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE), or similar quality certification.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary quality teams, including Quality Engineers and Inspectors.
• Experience with semiconductor tool installation, hook-up, commissioning, and qualification activities.
• Familiarity with cleanroom and sub-fab environments, contamination control requirements, and semiconductor facility protocols.
• Experience with supplier and subcontractor quality management.
• Strong knowledge of inspection documentation, turnover packages, and project closeout requirements.
• Experience working directly with clients during audits, quality reviews, inspections, and project turnover.

Working Conditions:

• Work performed primarily within semiconductor fabrication facilities, including cleanroom, sub-fab, construction, and project office environments.
• Requires adherence to site safety requirements, cleanroom protocols, gowning procedures, and contamination control standards.
• May require extended hours, shift work, or weekend work based on project schedules and critical quality activities.
• May require walking active construction areas, climbing stairs or ladders, accessing elevated work areas, and conducting field inspections.
• May require travel to supplier facilities, project locations, or other semiconductor sites as necessary.
