QA-QC Engineer

Responsibilities

• You will oversee and support the procurement process of piping, equipment, and package units with respect to supplier compliance with project and code requirements
• Prepare and provide project monitoring, cost control, and reporting for the QA/QC discipline
• Review vendor welding, testing, and NDE procedures
• Develop, review, and update quality assurance documentation such as Inspection Attribute Lists, Inspection Checklists, and Inspection/Welding Specifications for product lines in cooperation with SLNA Engineering and Project Management Departments
• Respond to and manage quality issues identified by vendors, customers, quality representatives, and company personnel; ensure root cause analysis methodology is followed and corrective actions are completed in a timely fashion
• Communicate lessons learned of QA/QC non‑conformities to Engineering for implementation into design and future best practices
• Interpret code issues for design, fabrication, inspection, and testing of piping, pressure vessels, and welding
• Collaborate closely with the Materials Technology and Codes Engineer in the review and/or recommendation of changes of material due to availability or ASTM deviations for active projects and spare‑parts orders
• Lead the supplier inspection process and develop Project Inspection Plans, coordinating external inspection resources
• Provide technical support during inspection visits of purchased equipment for compliance with project specifications and tooling requirements within the SLNA Quality Management System

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical or Welding Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of ten years of experience in Petrochemicals / Industrial Gases in the area of QA/QC application, or comparable related experience
• Extensive knowledge and experience in design, fabrication, inspection, and testing of international Codes and Standards (ASME, ASTM, API, ASNT)
• Knowledge of NDE/NDT and QA/QC process standards and techniques
• Knowledge of welding and metallurgy; AWS CWI endorsement preferred
• Current or previous certification in NDE Level II (VT, PT, MT, UT, RT) and/or API certifications (510, 570, SIFE, SIRE)
• Working knowledge of fabrication, construction, and assembly of plant components and fired capital equipment
• Cost responsibility and basic knowledge of bid verification
