Job summary

Praetorian Power Protection Llc is seeking a QA/QC Engineer for our Temple, TX site to lead quality assurance on mission-critical electrical systems in fast-paced data center projects.

You will perform inspections, develop ITPs, witness testing, and document NCRs while ensuring safety and compliance with NEC, NFPA, and IEEE standards. Strong field documentation and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years Electrical QA/QC experience, with 3+ years in mission-critical facilities such as data centers.
• Strong knowledge of hyperscale electrical systems including MV/HV switchgear, generators, and UPS.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E/70B, IEEE testing standards, and test methods.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily field inspections and verify installations (switchgear, generators, UPS, busway, cable tray, terminations).
• Develop/review Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, and QA/QC procedures.
• Witness FAT/SAT, pre-energization checks, insulation/hi-pot testing, relay/breaker testing and documentation.

Job SummaryPraetorian Power Protection, the leader in NETA testing and staff augmentation to the mission-critical industry, is searching for a QA/QC Engineer for our site in Temple, TX. We pride ourselves on technical excellence and a safety-first culture that ensures our clients' most vital systems never fail.Perform hands-on quality assurance and control for mission-critical electrical systems on fast-paced hyperscale data center projects. Ensure flawless installation, testing, and compliance of HV/MV/LV distribution, switchgear, generators, UPS, busway, redundant power paths (2N/N+1), grounding, and related infrastructure to meet NEC, NFPA, IEEE, TIA-942, Uptime Institute, and hyperscale owner standards—with zero tolerance for defects or rework.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute daily field inspections and verify installations (switchgear, generators, UPS, busway, PDUs, RPPs, cable tray, terminations, torque, labeling, grounding/bonding).Develop/review Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, and QA/QC procedures.Witness and document FAT/SAT, pre-energization checks, insulation/hi-pot testing, contact resistance, relay/breaker testing, and functional/performance tests.Identify, document, and resolve non-conformances (NCRs); verify corrective actions and close-outs.Prepare inspection logs, test reports, and turnover packages for client/commissioning handover.Support commissioning and integrated systems testing (IST); interface with CxA, third-party testers, owners, and AHJs.Enforce safety protocols (LOTO, NFPA 70E, arc-flash compliance) during electrical work.Qualifications5+ years electrical QA/QC experience, with 3+ years in mission-critical facilities (data centers preferred).Strong knowledge of hyperscale electrical systems: MV/HV switchgear, generators ( 1 MW), multi-module UPS, busway, redundant feeds.Experience with CX Alloy is a mustProficiency in NEC, NFPA 70E/70B, IEEE standards, testing methods (megger, DLRO, hi-pot, thermography).Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and communication skills.Proficient in MS Office; experience with Procore/Bluebeam a plus.If you have an interest in learning more, apply today.
