Job summary

Furlani Foods, a family of bakeries in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, seeks a QA Manager to lead product quality and food safety systems, ensuring compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive effective solutions and timely issue resolution.

The ideal candidate will manage QA staff, oversee audit programs, and apply cGMPs, sanitary design, and sanitation practices to maintain top quality.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years operations experience in a food manufacturing company.
• Bachelor's degree in science or related field preferred.
• Certification in SQF, HACCP, PCQI or other related programs.

Responsibilities

• Manage and assess the effectiveness of food safety and quality policies/programs (SQF, FDA, Food Safety and Quality).
• Coordinate the development and delivery of quality and food safety training programs for plant management and personnel.
• Lead external regulatory or customer food safety audits. Coordinate corrective action to identified deficiencies and provide effective and timely resolutions.
• Review, analyze, and react to production floor operational data and QA product tests. Use statistical tools to optimize the process.
• Provide expertise to plant management in current good manufacturing practice (cGMPs), sanitary design, and sanitation practices.
• Manage all employees of the department and is responsible for performance management and hiring of the employees within that department

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of food processing, regulatory requirements, food preservation, food borne illness, food allergies, pest management, sanitary design, sanitation, and food microbiology.
• Proven supervisory and leadership abilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
