Job summary

O’Neal Manufacturing Services is seeking a seasoned Quality/QA Leader to head the quality program at our Indianapolis-area manufacturing plant. You will drive safety, quality and delivery initiatives, supervise the QA team, and collaborate with customers to meet expectations using lean and six-sigma methods.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in manufacturing quality, hands-on experience with ISO 9001, APQP/PPAP, FMEA, SPC and MSA, and a proven track record leading teams and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • 3+ years of supervision/management experience.
  • Experience with automotive core tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA.
  • Familiarity with GD&T and dimensional metrology.
  • Experience with OEM customers.
  • Lean or 6-Sigma Green/Black Belt or similar problem-solving methods.
  • Prior quality engineering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead quality program and drive safety, quality and delivery initiatives.
  • Communicate quality goals to plant personnel and lead achievement efforts.
  • Oversee QA department resources and ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Develop and deploy development plans for QA personnel.
  • Staff and equip QA for product inspection, metrology, auditing, process control, and improvement.
  • Communicate with customers to address problems and mitigate impact.
  • Lead PPAP activities and coordinate with plant staff for product launches.
  • Investigate root causes and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Respond to corrective action requests in the required format (5-Why, 8-D).
  • Ensure corrective actions are initiated and countermeasures deployed for quality issues.
  • Oversee containment to mitigate impact across the supply chain.
  • Conduct statistical capability studies and use data for improvements.
  • Evaluate and implement measurement tools for quality production.
  • Administer Layered Process Audit (LPA) program to drive quality improvements.
  • Write and implement work instructions to prevent defects.
  • Identify and implement quality gates to prevent defects.
