Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY, is seeking a Laboratory Manager for the HLA immunogenetics/transplant lab. You will oversee the QA system, lead validation and implementation with the lab director, ensure regulatory compliance, and train staff.

This role supports deceased donor programs and requires strong leadership, documentation control experience, and proficiency with LIS systems such as HistoTrac, plus MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3 years of laboratory training or experience in clinical laboratory preferably histocompatibility, immunogenetics and/or transplantation immunology.
• Certification by the American College of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ACHI) as a Certified Histocompatability Technologist (CHT) or Certified Histocompatibility Specialist (CHS); certification is highly preferred, but not required
• Experience with document control systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop staff
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills

Scheduled Daily Hours: 7.5 HOURS

Pay Range: $104,000.00-$130,000.00

Responsible for overseeing HLA laboratory's quality assurance system that supports the transplant programs; primary responsibility of validation and implementation processes in collaboration with the HLA laboratory director; ensures regulatory compliance; staff training and competency assessment; and research and development activities. Assists with lab coverage in support of deceased donor transplant programs.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelors Degree required
• 3 years of laboratory training or experience in clinical laboratory preferably histocompatibility, immunogenetics and/or transplantation immunology
• Certification by the American College of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ACHI) as a Certified Histocompatibility Technologist (CHT) or Certified Histocompatibility Specialist (CHS); certification is highly preferred, but not required
• Experience with document control systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop staff
