Job summary

empirical foods, inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector to monitor quality standards across the plant, including raw material receipts, sampling, and finished product testing.

This role requires lifting materials and assisting R&D with product development for quality and safety. Responsibilities include cleanliness audits, sanitation monitoring, equipment testing, data recording, and handling holds on finished products.

Qualifications

• Basic math and writing skills.
• General computer knowledge and proficiency.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
• Experience in a food or restaurant environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect machinery and structures for cleanliness and compliance; report non-conformities.
• Perform audits and tests for foreign material sources; report findings to management.
• Monitor and inspect areas (freezers, sinks, locker rooms, etc.) for sanitation and safety.
• Inspect raw material trailers, recording set points and temperatures; verify supplier eligibility.
• Complete product adjustment forms, damaged box reports, and lean claims timely.
• Conduct regular product sampling and log data; ensure correct labeling and shipping to labs.
• Inspect finished products and place holds when necessary; coordinate production stops.
• Measure and record quality factors (fat, protein, temperature, color).
• Inspect finished products and manage documentation for QA processes.
• Provide coverage and assist in other areas; perform inventory checks for QA supplies.
