Job summary

Unigen Corporation in Newark, CA is seeking a QA Inspector – FQA (Swing Shift) to perform final quality inspections and ensure product compliance. This onsite role reports to the Quality Supervisor within the Manufacturing Quality department.

The successful candidate will perform cosmetic, functional, and NCR-related inspections on PCBA and box builds, interpret drawings and BOMs, and support daily test records and production scheduling.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School diploma; 2+ years in FQA/First Article/Inbound Inspection in EMS.
• Experience with IPC-610A or J-STD-001 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform cosmetic, functional, and NCR inspections on all product lines including PCBA and box builds.
• Read and interpret assembly drawings, BOMs, MPI, ECN, and related documents to approve or reject final assemblies.
• Enter data and support daily production schedules; maintain test records and traceability.
• Mentor new hires and participate in cross-training; escalate issues to leads and engineers.

Job Title: QA Inspector – FQA ( Swing Shift)

Department: Manufacturing Quality

Reports to: Quality Supervisor

Job Overview

The Final Quality Assurance (FQA) Inspector performs final and other types of quality inspection to ensure adherence of the finished product to compliance requirements and procedures.

Primary Job Responsibilities

1. Perform inspections

• Perform a cosmetic and full inspection, and as well as a functional test for all product lines including PCBA and box builds
• Ensure finished product compliance with applicable requirements and ESD practices, proper material handling, and NCR practices/systems
• Inspects nonconforming solder join defects on PTH and SMT component
• Perform online Go-Not-Go inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet Customer specification and applicable standards.

2. Monitor and operate critical equipment and instrumentation

• Read and interpret assembly drawings, bills of material (BOMs), MPI, ECN, Deviation, and other manufacturing documentation related to inspection in approving or rejecting final assemblies record daily test results
• Perform data entry and scanning to support daily production schedules and transactions

3. Provide team support

• Demonstrate work methods to new hires
• Escalates process problems with Peer, Leads, Supervisor and Engineers.
• Share best practices, assist in minor troubleshooting
• Actively participate in cross-training

Other duties and responsibilities related to Quality Assurance as assigned

Required Education and Experience

• Minimum High School Diploma.
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in First Article, In-Process, FQA, or Receiving Inspection in Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) environment.
• IPC-610A or J-STD-001 certification preferred
