Job summary

Nueske’s Applewood Smoked Meats is seeking a Quality Assurance and Food Safety Manager to lead the QA department in a state‑of‑the‑art meat processing facility in Wittenberg, WI. You will develop, implement, and maintain quality and food safety systems to meet customer expectations and drive continuous improvement.

This role reports to the QA Director and supervises a team of QA staff. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor of Science and 3–5 years in manufacturing, with strong HACCP knowledge,

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science with 3–5 years of related experience in a manufacturing setting is required.
• Experience with HACCP and quality systems is essential.
• Familiarity with BRC or other GFSI schemes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily QA department activities and maintain quality and food safety systems.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements and quality standards.
• Manage QA programs, document policies, and records for product specifications.
• Lead continuous improvement through KPI tracking and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Support R&D, commissioning, and qualification projects on new assets and processes.
• Lead pre‑requisite programs and ensure audit readiness for BRC.
