Job summary

5V Video is a profitable, growing video technology company powering interactive experiences across web, mobile, and connected TVs. We are hiring a QA engineer to design test plans, automate where possible, and partner with engineers to ship reliable software in a fully remote role across the US.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of QA/testing, hands-on automation with Playwright/Cypress/Selenium, strong SQL skills, and CI/CD experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional QA/testing experience, focused on web applications.
• Hands-on automation experience with modern frameworks.
• Strong debugging skills across frontend, backend, APIs and data layer.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git/GitHub and test planning.
• Mentoring or leadership in QA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases for web applications.

A profitable, growing video technology company powering personalized, interactive video experiences across web, mobile, and connected TVs. Their platform enables broadcasters, streaming services, and major consumer brands to build rich, interactive video products, combining commerce, data, and automation, without writing code. They work with category-leading media, sports, and entertainment brands to deliver next-generation direct-to-consumer video experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing comprehensive test plans and test cases, identifying edge cases and risks early in the development lifecycle
• Determining the right balance of manual and automated testing and continually improving coverage, reliability, and efficiency
• Integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and troubleshooting failures, distinguishing application defects from test or environmental issues
• Reading and understanding application code to build effective tests, investigate defects, and collaborate directly with engineers
• Using databases and SQL to validate application behavior and investigate data issues across the stack
• Participating in sprint planning, refinement, release planning, and retrospectives, helping assess release readiness and risk
• Helping define and improve QA processes, automation strategy, testing standards, and quality metrics in partnership with the Head of QA
• Acting as a technical QA leader who helps the organization scale its engineering and QA practices

Ideal Profile:

• 5+ years of professional QA/software testing experience, with significant experience testing web applications
• Strong hands-on experience with both manual testing and test automation
• Proficiency with at least one modern web automation framework such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium/WebDriver, or WebdriverIO
• Hands-on experience with databases and SQL for data validation and troubleshooting
• Experience with Git/GitHub and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong debugging skills across the frontend, backend, APIs, and data layer
• Solid grounding in QA methodologies, including regression, exploratory, and risk-based testing
• Prior technical leadership, mentoring, or experience building QA processes is strongly preferred
• Experience with cloud-based applications and distributed systems is a plus
• Experience in video, streaming, interactive media, or high-traffic consumer applications is a plus
