Southern Company Services is seeking an experienced QA Engineer III to support quality engineering, test automation, performance testing, and release readiness across enterprise applications. The role emphasizes API automation, regression testing, and collaboration with Engineering, Product, and DevOps teams.

The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years in QA/quality engineering, with strong API testing, UI and end-to-end testing, and experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of QA or software quality engineering experience.
• Strong API testing and automation experience.
• UI, integration, and end-to-end testing experience.
• Hands-on performance and reliability testing experience.
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of regression, risk-based, exploratory, and scripted testing.
• Experience with defect management, test reporting, and root-cause analysis.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with Engineering, Product, and DevOps teams.
• Utility, energy, or regulated-industry experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test strategies for regression, new functionality, integration, end-to-end, and performance testing.
• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, automated test suites, and exploratory test charters.
• Build reusable and maintainable automation frameworks for API and UI testing.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensure reliable, actionable test results.
• Perform load, stress, endurance, scalability, and peak-volume testing.
• Establish performance baselines and monitor latency, throughput, response times, and error rates.
• Lead defect triage and support root-cause analysis.
• Partner with developers, product teams, and DevOps to improve testability, logging, instrumentation, and acceptance criteria.
• Provide clear reporting on test coverage, quality risks, release readiness, and recommendations.
• Support continuous improvement of quality-management processes and standards.
