Job summary

Zones IT Solutions is seeking an entry–mid level Software Tester/QA Engineer for a 6‑month contract to hire in Parkville, MO or Tulsa, OK. You will support software systems used in HVAC products, performing manual and automated testing to ensure quality, reliability, and performance across HVAC control applications.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance.
• Experience executing both manual and automated test cases.
• Hands-on experience with at least one test automation tool or framework (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, TestNG, or similar).
• Understanding of software testing fundamentals, including test plans, test cases, and defect lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automated test scripts to simulate real-world user interactions and system behaviors.
• Execute automated and manual test cases to validate software functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Analyze test results and logs to identify, reproduce, and document software defects.
• Collaborate with software developers, product owners, and systems engineers to define testing requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain test automation frameworks to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
• Participate in regression testing cycles for software releases related to HVAC control systems and compressor functionality.
• Ensure test coverage aligns with business, operational, and compliance requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and documentation.
