Job summary

Luxoft Poland is seeking a QA Engineer to join our Quality Engineering team. You will ensure quality of web applications and cloud-based products through manual testing and growing automation skills.

You will validate front-end functionality, data accuracy, and user experience across platforms, collaborating with developers, product managers, and senior QA engineers in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of QA experience with manual testing of web applications.

Responsibilities

  • Execute manual test cases for web apps (functional, regression, exploratory).
  • Identify, document, and track bugs with steps using Jira or similar tool.
  • Write and maintain basic automated UI tests using Cypress with mentorship.
  • Test RESTful APIs using Postman; verify responses and data integrity.
  • Run basic SQL queries against PostgreSQL or similar DBs for data validation.
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies, test planning, and release readiness in Agile/Scrum.
  • Maintain test documentation: plans, cases, and checklists.
  • Collaborate with developers to translate features into testable scenarios.
  • Assist in integrating basic automated checks into CI/CD pipelines with guidance from seniors.
  • Flag usability and accessibility issues discovered during testing.

Job description

We are seeking a motivated QA Engineer to join our Quality Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our web applications and cloud-based products through a combination of manual testing and growing automation skills.

You will play an important role in validating front-end functionality, user experience, and data accuracy across our platforms. This position involves working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment that values learning, continuous improvement, and attention to detail. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and senior QA engineers to ensure a high-quality experience for our end users.

Responsibilities
  • Execute manual test cases for web applications, covering functional, regression, and exploratory testing.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs with clear and reproducible steps using tools such as Jira or similar defect tracking systems.
  • Write and maintain basic automated tests for UI workflows using Cypress or similar frameworks, with guidance from senior team members.
  • Assist in testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman, verifying response accuracy and data integrity.
  • Perform basic data validation by writing simple SQL queries against PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies, test planning sessions, and release readiness reviews within an Agile/Scrum team.
  • Contribute to maintaining and improving test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and checklists.
  • Collaborate with developers to understand feature requirements and translate them into testable scenarios.
  • Support the team in integrating basic automated checks into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions or Jenkins), with mentorship from senior engineers.
  • Flag usability and accessibility issues discovered during manual testing.
Mandatory Skills Description
Experience

1–3 years of experience in QA, with a strong foundation in manual testing of web applications.

Core Skills
  • Solid understanding of software testing fundamentals, including test case design, boundary analysis, and regression testing.
  • Hands‑on experience with Postman or similar tools for basic API testing.
  • Comfort writing simple SQL queries for data verification.
  • Experience using defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail).
  • Good communication skills and the ability to clearly document and articulate issues.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Personal Attributes
  • Strong attention to detail, especially around UI behavior and visual consistency.
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn automation, cloud technologies, and modern QA practices.

Education
