Job summary

Wolfspeed in Marcy, NY is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support the quality management system across manufacturing and supplier quality for the Mohawk Valley Fab. You will collaborate with internal Quality and Operations teams to drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.

This role requires a strong engineering background in semiconductor manufacturing, experience with IATF16949/ISO9001, and excellent communication and project management skills; familiarity with data tools

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or Physics.
• 3–5 years in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Knowledge of quality systems and wafer fabrication.
• Fast-paced, dynamic environment with ability to execute at detail and strategy levels.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• Familiarity with IATF 16949, AS9100 or ISO9001 preferred.
• Basic understanding of FMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC is a plus.
• Independent, self-motivated and deadline-driven.

Responsibilities

• Interface with customer quality engineers on complaints and returns; lead root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Support the manufacturing quality processes at the Marcy site including change and non-conformance management.
• Evaluate supplier PCNs and issue SCARs with fab engineers; support supplier and incoming quality processes.
• Develop relationships with factory and business unit leadership.

Here’s the Gist:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to take on the challenging role of Quality Engineer. This role will be filled located onsite at our Wolfspeed manufacturing site in Marcy, NY. This person will be responsible for supporting all aspects of our quality management system including manufacturing quality and supplier quality for the Mohawk Valley Fab. To be successful in this role, the person will collaborate with internal teams within Quality and Operation organizations.

The Day-to-Day:

• Interface with customers quality engineers on complaints and returns. Lead problem solving with cross functional teams to determine root cause and corrective actions.

• Support the Manufacturing Quality business processes for the IATF16949 certified Marcy site including change management, non-conformance management, corrective actions, etc.

• Work with fab engineers to evaluate supplier PCNs and issue vendor corrective action SCARS supporting the Supplier and Incoming Quality business process.

• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with key internal stakeholders including the factory and business unit leadership.

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Qualifications):

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related degree.

• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in semiconductor manufacturing

• Knowledge of quality systems, semiconductor materials, and semiconductor wafer fabrication.

• The ability to operate in a fast paced, highly dynamic environment and to execute at both a detailed level as well as a strategic level.

• Excellent communication and project management skills.

• Familiarity with quality management systems and documentation practices. Experience with IATF 16949, AS9100, or ISO9001 strongly preferred.

• Basic understanding of quality core tools (FMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC) is a strong plus.

• Excellent communication and project management skills with a keen focus on attention to detail.

• Works independently, self‑motivated, takes ownership and accountability for process deadlines.

• Ability to work in large, complex, global environment, in a fast-paced environment, and remains flexible to support changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience designing and/or executing incoming quality control business utilizing camline (SQM, SPACE, CDM) and SAP S4 HANA (quality management & enterprise warehouse management)

• Experience utilizing engineering databases and SQL to develop and deploy PowerBI reports focused on supporting day-to-day business operations as well as key process effectiveness indicator

• Working knowledge of the VDA 4992 barcode specification and/or experience deploying it in a manufacturing environment

• Experience deploying python and/or streamlit reporting applications. This role may require additional duties and/or assignments as designated by management.

Compensation Range:

$107,000.00 - $147,000.00
