The QA Automation Lead will own the global automation strategy, framework architecture, test engineering practices, and quality standards across mission-critical enterprise payment processing and financial messaging platforms. Working closely with engineering, architecture, product, DevOps, and business stakeholders, this role ensures high-quality software releases while improving automation coverage, test efficiency, platform resilience, and operational confidence.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in test engineering, high-throughput distributed systems, event-driven messaging architectures, and complex financial transaction processing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Automation Strategy & Framework Architecture: Lead the QA automation strategy and quality engineering roadmap across global payment platforms. Design, build, and maintain scalable, reusable enterprise test frameworks for UI, API, microservices, and end-to-end integration testing.
- Pipeline & Shift-Left Integration: Drive shift-left testing methodologies and integrate automated testing suites into CI/CD pipelines to establish automated quality gates for software releases.
- Financial Messaging & Event Testing: Lead test engineering for international financial messaging standards, global payment clearing networks, message transformation workflows, and event-driven middleware architectures (e.g., Kafka, enterprise message queues).
- Resiliency & Performance Engineering: Develop comprehensive test approaches covering functional, regression, API, high availability, disaster recovery, performance, and operational resiliency for high-concurrency payment systems.
- Governance, Metrics & Audit Readiness: Establish quality engineering coding standards, monitor defect metrics/KPIs, conduct root-cause analysis on production defects, and maintain full test evidence and traceability for regulatory and audit compliance.
- Technical Leadership & Modernization: Mentor and guide QA engineers and automation developers, modernize legacy testing processes, and drive the transition toward cloud-native automated quality engineering practices.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Professional Experience: 10+ years of progressive QA engineering and software testing experience with proven technical leadership in building enterprise automation frameworks.
- Domain Expertise: Strong background supporting financial messaging, clearing house interfaces, payment processing, treasury, or corporate banking platforms.
- Distributed Systems & Cloud: Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, REST/SOAP APIs, event streaming (Kafka, MQ), cloud infrastructure (Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
- Industry Standards: Familiarity with global financial messaging formats (such as ISO 20022 and international payment networks) and experience with multi-platform environments (including Linux, cloud-hosted, and high-availability enterprise platforms).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
