Job summary

Valiant Technologies LLC in San Jose seeks an experienced SDET/Automation Engineer to design and maintain automated test frameworks for web, mobile, API, and backend applications. You will implement API automation, CI/CD integrations, and contribute to test strategy.

The role requires hands-on testing, strong knowledge of REST/JSON/XML, SQL, and modern automation tools. You'll mentor junior QA engineers and help improve overall software quality in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as SDET, Automation Engineer, or Software Test Engineer.
• Hands-on with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar tools.
• Experience with API testing and automation.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, XML.
• Experience with SQL and database testing.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Experience with Git and source-control systems.
• SDLC, STLC, Agile, and Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test scripts.
• Create automated tests for web, mobile, API, and backend applications.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.
• Develop and execute API automation tests using REST Assured, Postman, or similar tools.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, or Azure DevOps).
• Analyze test failures, identify defects, and work with developers to resolve issues.
• Participate in requirements analysis and provide input on testability and quality.
• Develop test strategies, test plans, test cases, and automation frameworks.
• Perform database validation and backend testing using SQL.
• Conduct performance, reliability, and scalability testing as needed.
• Maintain test data, environments, and automation documentation.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives).
• Mentor QA engineers and contribute to automation/testing best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve test coverage and automation efficiency.
