Job summary

QSC is seeking a Training Manager to lead Q-SYS classroom trainings, primarily online from the Costa Mesa Remote Training Room, with occasional in-person sessions at the Costa Mesa Experience Center. You will manage rosters and communications, review exams, and provide one-on-one Office Hours for student success.

The role requires a strong AV&C background, Q-SYS certification mastery, and experience delivering technical training to diverse audiences both live and online in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in audio, DSP, engineering, electronics or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional AV&C systems experience.
• Strong working knowledge of the Q-SYS Platform and Q-SYS Designer Software with Level 1/2 and Control 101 certifications.
• Experience with other AV/control platforms (Crestron, AMX, Extron) is a plus.
• 3+ years Lua scripting experience in development or implementation.
• Experience developing or supporting technical training in educational or professional settings.
• 3+ years communicating with customers, partners or external stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication translating complex AV concepts for varied audiences.
• Proven ability to deliver engaging training in live and virtual settings.

Responsibilities

• Q-SYS Curriculum Instruction: conduct full classroom trainings via remote facility and Costa Mesa Experience Center.
• Q-SYS Training Design Validation: review final design submissions for online and in-classroom events and certify students.
• Manage class rosters and student communications, liaise with Q-SYS members to support needs.
• Provide Office Hours video consultations and offer expert guidance on Q-SYS systems and DSP design.

Job Summary

The Training Manager conducts regularly scheduled Q-SYS classroom trainings, primarily online facilitated in the Costa Mesa Remote Training Room, but also virtually from their home office and in-person in the Costa Mesa Experience Center. Training Manager conducts all levels of Q-SYS Training courses including Q-SYS Level Two, Control & UCI Intermediate and Advanced, and future offerings. Training Manager is responsible for managing roster signups and communication with their students. Also provides technical review of Q-SYS exit exams for all curriculum, and participates in one-on-one Office Hours review sessions with students.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

• Q-SYS Curriculum Instruction: Conduct full classroom trainings for our integrator/programmer/end-user community, primarily but not limited to Q-SYS Level Two online curriculum and Control & UCI Training Series, via Remote Training facility and in support of Costa Mesa Experience Center.
• Q-SYS Training Design Validation and Consultation: Review final design submissions for Q-SYS online and in-classroom training events, requiring intricate subjective understanding of Q-SYS systems and its open architecture format, in order to certify students globally in Q-SYS Level One, Q-SYS Level Two, Q-SYS Control & UCI Training Series, and other on-demand training courses.
• Includes management of class rosters, communication with students, and liasing with various Q-SYS members to facilitate needs.
• Perform “Office Hours” video consultations with Q-SYS training students to provide one-on-one training assistance, provide expert guidance and knowledge on Q-SYS systems, DSP design verification, and UCI efficiency.

Skills And Minimum Experience Required

• Bachelor’s degree in audio, DSP, engineering, electronics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience working with AV&C (Audio, Video & Control) systems.
• Strong working knowledge of the Q-SYS Platform and Q-SYS Designer Software, with Q-SYS Level 1, Q-SYS Level 2, and Control 101 certifications or equivalent demonstrated expertise.
• Experience with other AV/control platforms, such as Crestron, AMX, or Extron, is a plus.
• 3+ years of experience with Lua scripting or comparable experience developing and implementing Lua-based solutions.
• Experience developing, facilitating, or supporting technical training in an educational, instructional, or professional learning environment.
• 3+ years of experience communicating directly with customers, partners, or other external stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex Q-SYS, product, and AV&C concepts into clear, accessible, and engaging training content for a variety of audiences and skill levels.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging technical training in both live classroom and on-camera/virtual environments.

The range for this position is $75,500.00 to $135,900.00 USD. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
