Job summary

Intellias is seeking a Python MCP Engineer to build and maintain MCP services powering integrations between AI agents, tools, and enterprise platforms. The role focuses on Python backend development, asynchronous APIs, MCP server implementation, observability, and secure cloud-native deployments on AWS.

You will design, develop, and operate secure containerized workloads on AWS with Lambda, API Gateway, and related services, while implementing observability with OpenTelemetry and maintaining API

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Python development experience.
• Experience building API-driven integrations.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and async programming.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain MCP servers using Python and FastMCP.
• Build API-driven integrations between AI agents and enterprise tools.
• Develop scalable backend services with FastAPI, asyncio, and Pydantic.
• Deploy and operate services on AWS (Lambda, API Gateway).
• Implement observability using OpenTelemetry (traces, metrics, logs).

The role focuses on Python backend development, asynchronous APIs, MCP server implementation, observability, and secure cloud-native deployments on AWS. The ideal candidate has strong Python engineering skills, experience building API-driven integrations, and a solid understanding of modern distributed systems.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain MCP servers using Python, FastMCP, and modern asynchronous frameworks.
• Build API-driven integrations between AI agents, enterprise services, and external tools.
• Develop scalable backend services using FastAPI, asyncio, and Pydantic.
• Implement MCP protocol functionality and server‑side communication patterns.
• Deploy and operate services on AWS using Lambda, API Gateway, and related cloud services.
• Design and maintain secure containerized workloads following security best practices and baseline hardening standards.
• Implement observability using OpenTelemetry, including distributed traces, metrics, and structured logging.
• Create and maintain API contracts, schemas, validation logic, and integration documentation.
• Optimize service performance, reliability, and operational visibility.
• Build automated testing and validation mechanisms for integration workflows.
• Collaborate with AI platform teams to enable seamless tool and agent interoperability.
• Troubleshoot production issues and support continuous improvement of platform services.
