Canonical is seeking a Python and Kubernetes Software Engineer focused on Data, AI/ML & Analytics. The role involves developing end-to-end data analytics and MLops solutions using open-source tools, collaborating across distributed teams, and contributing to cloud and on-prem deployments.

Qualifications

• Professional or academic software delivery using Python.
• Strong academic record at high school and university.
• Undergraduate technical degree or equivalent demonstrable path.
• Excellent written and spoken English with presentation skills.
• Experience with Linux, open source collaboration and distributed teams.
• Ability to travel for company events up to two weeks, twice a year.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain solutions deployed on public and private clouds and local workstations.
• Master distributed systems concepts such as observability, identity, tracing.
• Work with Kubernetes and machine-oriented open source applications.
• Collaborate with a distributed team of engineers, designers and product managers.
• Debug issues and engage with upstream communities; contribute ideas for solutions.
