Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a skilled Python data engineer to develop and maintain data processing and reporting solutions for trading and market data. You will build automated frameworks, transform complex datasets into meaningful insights, and collaborate with Front Office, Operations, Risk and Finance to meet reporting needs.

The role requires strong Python, SQL, and data skills, experience with ETL, dashboards, and a solid understanding of financial markets.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience in Python development with scalable data processing and reporting solutions.
• Experience with trading data, market data, transaction data, and financial reporting systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, PySpark, and SQLAlchemy for data analysis and processing.
• Expertise in SQL and working with relational databases for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
• Experience developing automated reporting, dashboards, and analytics solutions for business stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of financial markets, trading operations, trade lifecycle, and market data concepts.
• Experience in data validation, reconciliation, and ensuring data quality across trading and reporting platforms.
• Hands-on experience with ETL processes, data automation, and workflow optimization.
• Proven experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python-based solutions to support trading data analysis, reporting, and operational processes.
• Design and build automated reporting frameworks to deliver timely and accurate business insights.
• Analyze trading datasets and transform complex data into meaningful reports and actionable recommendations.
• Develop data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes from multiple internal and external data sources.
• Work closely with Front Office, Operations, Risk, and Finance teams to understand reporting requirements and business objectives.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of trading and market data through validation and reconciliation processes.
• Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions for business stakeholders.
• Optimize existing reporting processes through automation and process improvements.
• Troubleshoot data-related issues and perform root cause analysis to resolve reporting discrepancies.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Maintain technical documentation and ensure adherence to development and governance standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data and reporting solutions that support financial markets operations.
