Job summary

Gravitas Recruitment Group (Global) Ltd is seeking a skilled backend/data engineer to develop and maintain a fund valuation system and related data pipelines. The role collaborates with developers to design metadata schemas, ensure data quality, and automate reporting to resolve operational issues.

The ideal candidate has strong Python skills, Linux expertise, and excellent analytical abilities, with a degree in CS/Engineering. Experience with data visualization and web frontends is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in Python with experience working with databases, data integration and data visualization technologies.
• Familiar with Linux and Shell scripting.
• Experience with Web frontend technologies is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve operational issues.
• Knack for critical thinking, initiative to address issues and implement proactive solutions to improve efficiency.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining fund valuation system that monitor fund valuations, reconciliations, exception handlings and other operational activities.
• Work with other developers to design and build metadata database schemas and data pipelines supporting seamless data flows across trading and valuation platforms.
• Developing automated reporting and analytics tools to help identify and resolve operational issues quickly and efficiently.
• Ensuring data quality and accuracy of back office data feeds and transaction processing systems.
• Troubleshooting and debugging issues in the trading platform’s back office operational processes.
