Job summary

Capgemini is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to support enterprise data modernization initiatives in onsite locations. The role requires deep expertise in Python, AWS, and relational databases, with strong experience in mainframe technologies (VSAM, DB2).

You will lead end-to-end data migration, design transformations, and build scalable data pipelines. Responsibilities include modeling data, managing AWS RDS, and ensuring governance and compliance.

Job Description

Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer to support enterprise data modernization initiatives.

This role requires deep expertise in Python, AWS, and relational databases, combined with strong experience in mainframe technologies (VSAM, DB2).

  • Lead and execute end-to-end data migration efforts, including planning, design, execution, validation, and post-migration support.
  • Analyze legacy data structures (VSAM, DB2) and design transformation strategies into modern RDBMS and AWS environments.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines and automation scripts using Python.
  • Design, implement, and maintain data models (conceptual, logical, and physical).
  • Manage and administer AWS RDS environments, ensuring high availability, performance optimization, and security compliance.
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to gather and translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to data governance, data quality, and compliance standards.
  • Troubleshoot data-related issues and provide timely resolution.
  • Prepare technical documentation for data models, migration workflows, and architecture designs.

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: $86129 to $127189

Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.

The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.

It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
