Job summary

Himalayas is seeking a seasoned QA engineer to drive Python automation testing for web and API layers. You will design and execute detailed test cases, implement Python-based automation with pytest, and collaborate via Git/Bitbucket.

The role emphasizes strong debugging, SDLC/STLC knowledge, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with the team. Remote position with preference for candidates in Indore or Pune.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a QA engineer
• At least 3+ years of hands-on experience in Python automation
• Experience in testing both web applications and API automation
• Basics of Selenium/automation testing are mandatory
• Python scripting language, API automation, hands-on experience on JSON/XML/backend automation
• Experience with web applications including web standards and pytest framework
• Hands-on experience with code repositories like GIT or Bitbucket
• Excellent debugging skills with web applications and negative testing
• Ability to create and execute detailed test cases
• Knowledge of SDLC/STLC and strong analytical skills
• Ability to act as an individual contributor with leadership qualities
• Strong written and verbal communication, and teamwork

Responsibilities

• Design and execute detailed test cases for manual, integration, system, and regression testing
• Perform web and API automation testing using Python and pytest
• Use Git/Bitbucket for version control and collaboration
• Debug complex web app issues, break scenarios, and ensure robust test coverage
• Contribute to SDLC documentation and test artifacts

Job Description

• Should have 5+ years of hands-on experience as a QA engineer and at least 3+ years of hands-on experience in Python automation
• Experience in testing both web application and API automation testing
• Basics of Selenium/automation testing are mandatory. Should know the basics of web elements, object identification, challenges faced during test automation, etc.
• Python scripting language, API automation, hands-on experience on JSON, XML, backend automation
• Quick learner
• Experience with web applications including web standards, best practices on python automation and pytest framework.
• Hands-on experience with code repositories like GIT or Bitbucket
• Should have excellent debugging skills with web applications including web standards. Should be well versed with negative testing and have different ideas on how to break the system.
• Should be able to create test cases in detail and execute them.
• Good knowledge and exposure to all stages of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and STLC
• Keen analytical skills and a self-starter in learning new functional and technical skills required for effective testing
• Ability to perform as an individual contributor with strong leadership qualities
• Good communication(written and verbal), interpersonal skills and team coordination skills
