Job summary

Acuity Brands, Inc. in Atlanta, GA, is seeking an experienced Software Engineer (Python, AI) to join a cross-functional Agile team. You will design and build scalable cloud-native systems, develop REST APIs, and contribute to AI features that drive business outcomes.

You will collaborate with product management, cloud architecture, and data science teams, using modern tooling such as FastAPI, PyTest, and DevOps pipelines to deliver high-quality software in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficient in Python and REST API development (FastAPI/Flask).
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP) and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable software and REST APIs for Acuity’s digital ecosystem.
• Implement and integrate AI features into software systems.
• Contribute to containerized deployments and cloud-native architectures.
• Assist in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD).
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and code reviews.
• Write tests using PyTest and apply TDD/BDD approaches.
