Responsibilities

  • Design and engineer residential solar energy systems, including rooftop PV arrays, inverters, mounting structures, and electrical components, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Use CAD software and other tools to produce detailed system layouts, electrical schematics, and engineering drawings.
  • Provide design updates and revisions throughout project execution as needed.
  • Conduct site assessments to evaluate solar potential, shading, roof condition, and electrical infrastructure.
  • Provide recommendations for optimal system design based on assessment findings.
  • Perform financial analysis and cost estimates to evaluate system feasibility, efficiency, and return on investment.
  • Partner with sales and customer service teams to gather requirements and develop customized solar solutions.
  • Support project teams by delivering accurate, timely design documentation and technical input.
  • Ensure all designs meet building codes, electrical standards, and safety regulations.
  • Monitor projects to confirm that installation practices align with design specifications and regulatory requirements

Position Summary:

We are seeking a talented and dedicated PV Solar Designer to join our team. As a Residential Solar Designer, you will play a crucial role in designing and optimizing solar energy systems for residential properties. Your innovative designs and expertise will contribute to our mission of providing homeowners with sustainable and cost-effective solar solutions.

Essential Duties:
  • System Design & Engineering
  • Design and engineer residential solar energy systems, including rooftop PV arrays, inverters, mounting structures, and electrical components, ensuring compliance with industry standards
  • Use CAD software and other tools to produce detailed system layouts, electrical schematics, and engineering drawings.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Proficiency with CAD software and solar design tools; strong knowledge of PV systems, electrical components, and solar energy principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to optimize designs for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Positive, team-oriented mindset with a passion for renewable energy and sustainability.
  • 1–5 years of hands‑on experience designing residential solar systems is a plus not required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Regular periods of sitting or standing may be required by this position. In addition, this position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
