Job summary

Western Alliance Bank is seeking an Insider Risk & DLP Response Engineer (Purview) to hands-on manage Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management and DLP capabilities. You will design, implement, test, and maintain policies, indicators, and workflow configurations while supporting sensitive data controls across email, endpoints, and cloud environments.

You will triage alerts, validate policy matches, and collaborate with IT, HR, Legal, and business teams to balance risk with productivity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, data protection, insider risk, security operations, or related technology.
• High school diploma; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of regulatory obligations, rules, and standards.
• Experience administering Microsoft Purview or Microsoft 365 security and information protection capabilities.
• Experience reviewing security, compliance, DLP, insider risk, or user activity alerts.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to lead during high-pressure incidents and translate findings into business risk.

Responsibilities

• Administer and improve Purview DLP and Insider Risk controls.
• Triage alerts, investigate, and tune detection logic.
• Coordinate with IT, HR, Legal, Vendor Management, and stakeholders.
• Support case management, escalation workflows, and evidence collection.
• Validate AI-related detections and data movement indicators.
• Develop SOPs, runbooks, and policy documentation for Purview workflows.
• Monitor Purview updates and propose operational improvements.
• Assist with testing policies prior to deployment.
