Job summary

Golin Ketchum is seeking an Account Executive, Purpose to join our team in Chicago. You will act as day-to-day client liaison, helping clients make lasting social and environmental impact through strategic communications.

The ideal candidate has strong writing, project-management and detail orientation, with 2–3 years in PR or related fields, and a Bachelor's degree preferred. The role reports to the Purpose team and includes in-office collaboration.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of communications experience in a public relations agency, nonprofit, consultancy or in-house setting.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as day-to-day client contact; continually foster client-agency relationship to build trust and become a valuable resource to clients
• Play key role in planning and implementation of account activities, including special events, media events, media relations, social media, desk-side briefings, program implementation, etc.
• Effectively develop full range of written materials including client correspondence, press releases, media pitches, reports, etc.
• Continually build understanding and knowledge of clients' business and competitive environments; apply this information in preparing and presenting client communications
• Develop an understanding of research methods, coordinate internal and external resources
• Be flexible and facilitate teamwork within account team while fully utilizing agency resources to create the “best teams” for your clients
• Be adept at managing teams, managing cross-functionally and managing up
• While experience working in the area of social or environmental impact communications is preferred, a passion for the specialty is a must!
