The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible and accountable for leading or participating in product or process development, improvement and capital projects. They shall comply with and enforce company safety, work, QMS rules, policies, procedures and instructions to drive cost improvements and optimize the operational processes to meet the global strategy. This position requires full participation and support in process/continuous improvement, problem solving and training activities to increase revenue and reduce costs/risks.

Responsibilities
– Track key operational metrics
– Participate in production process from receipt of raw material through fulfillment of finished product
– Lead and participate in the commercialization of new products in operations
– Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects
– Use management of change in operational areas
– Review safety, production, and QMS rules, policies and procedures
– Develop and implement training processes for operations
– Troubleshoot equipment and system problems
– Manage the new part setup processes
– Provides cost improvement opportunities to customers through material replacement and processing replacement
– Set objectives, plans, and schedule multiple projects to accomplish defined objectives to meet manufacturing goals
– Develop and improve existing processes and methods for control and troubleshooting of manufacturing technical problems

– Ensure equipment uptime through the expedient, effective resolutions of production equipment problems to meet customer service objectives for fill line rates
– Troubleshoot issues related to part quality, lead implementation of changes to correct
– Independently perform process and project activities with general instruction
– Manage line priorities to assure that all activity is directed in alignment with Business Unit objectives and serve as the process technical expert for one area within the plant
– Support manufacturing process development and validation for new product introductions
– Prepare technical analysis of process equipment including technical details and duties
– Provide input to the process control strategy and operational control strategy
– Identify and drive implementation of improvements to maximize throughput and capacity utilization Requirements/Skills
– BS with 3+ years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
– Equipment qualification experience in a cGMP environment (IQ, OQ, PQ) is preferred
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
– Ability to work in a team environment with rapidly changing priorities
– Be a team player, self starter, result oriented, quality commmited and proactive
– Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

– Knowledge of LEAN and Six Sigma tool sets
– Basic drawing via CAD software
– Analytical and fact based decision making skills
