Job summary

Envision Greater Fond du Lac, Inc. is seeking a diligent Stockroom / Materials Clerk to maintain inventory levels and accurate stock records. You will enter data into SAP, monitor delivery schedules, and help produce reliable reports on usage and adjustments.

The role requires attention to safety and quality processes. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and at least one year of related experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; minimum of one year related experience and/or training.
  • Basic computer skills; Excel experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units, use ratios and decimals; strong math and reasoning skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain stock items to ensure quality production.
  • Enter and record data in SAP and other systems for purchase orders, deliveries and invoices.
  • Compile reports on stock usage, inventory adjustments, spoilage, and location changes.
  • Provide backup support when needed and assist with QA certifications.
  • Follow safety rules and participate in continuous safety improvements.

Job description

SUMMARY: Compiles stock records and maintains inventory levels within the stockroom by performing the following:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Accountable for maintaining stock items that contribute to producing a quality product.
  • Comply with legal and other requirements to avoid injury and/or ill health to themselves and others.
  • Understands preventative measures and creates a safe environment by identifying potential emergency situations and reporting all incidents to supervisor/manager.
  • Adhere to the facility’s quality, environmental, health and safety policies that are identified by the Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Systems.
  • Maintains master information for counts and weights of articles that have been purchased.
  • Enters and records data into various systems; may include but not limited to items on purchase orders, delivery schedule, invoice and other records.
  • Compiles reports using computer to record information on usage of stock, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments.
  • Backup support in the absence of the stockroom attendant, the Material Analyst, and for Raw Material QA cert verification and entry.
  • Creates or maintains master information for stockroom items in SAP system.
  • Ensures appropriate and timely communication within departments.
  • Reviews MRO stock usage and makes recommendations to change re‑order point or maximum quantity.
  • Requisitions articles to maintain correct inventory levels.
  • Receives, stores and distributes material, supplies, merchandise, tools and equipment as required.
  • Must read, interpret and follow all safety rules and regulations while performing operations.
  • Overtime is required as posted weekly, and may be mandated for this position.
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor/management.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Minimum of one year related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have basic computer skills. Excel experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATH AND REASONING SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates and ratios. Knowledge of metric system. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Operator must be highly motivated with ability to work independently, yet be an effective team player. Operator must have above average mechanical ability.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; frequently stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear; walk and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Hearing protection, safety glasses and steel toe shoes are required.
