Job summary

SFP Holdings Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Supervisor to lead the Purchasing Team (Specialists, Agents, Leads) and ensure accurate, efficient procurement aligned with company policy and Oracle Fusion workflows.

You will supervise, coach, and review performance; support training; resolve supplier issues; and collaborate with Accounts Payable, Warehouse, and Field Operations to maintain data integrity and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience may be accepted.
• 5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience; 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion or similar ERP systems is highly preferred.
• Strong vendor management, inventory support, and purchasing workflows are essential.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills; ability to lead discussions and resolve escalations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Oracle Fusion and Salesforce Lightning experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of Purchasing Specialists, Agents, and Leads across regions or business units.
• Monitor daily purchasing activity and prioritize workflow to support purchasing and inventory needs.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and Oracle Fusion workflows.
• Review reports and dashboards to identify open POs, delays, or data discrepancies requiring follow-up.
• Manage team performance through coaching, feedback, and evaluations.
• Facilitate training, onboarding, and cross-training across roles within the purchasing team.
• Escalate and resolve supplier-related issues in partnership with internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Warehouse, and Field Operations to resolve PO/invoice issues.
• Partner with Supply Chain leadership to drive system and process improvements.
• Approve timesheets and PTO requests for direct reports.
• Maintain data integrity in Oracle Fusion and Salesforce Lightning; generate reports as needed.
• Communicate effectively with vendors and cross-functional teams.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY

The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Purchasing Team, including Specialists, Agents, and Leads. This role ensures purchasing activities are completed accurately and efficiently in alignment with company policy and supports the successful execution of procurement functions within Oracle Fusion. The Purchasing Supervisor provides leadership, performance management, and process oversight for the team while supporting continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

• Supervise a team of Purchasing Specialists, Agents, and Leads across assigned regions or business units.


• Monitor daily purchasing activity and prioritize workflow to support both job-specific and inventory-related purchasing.


• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and system workflows in Oracle Fusion.


• Review reports and dashboards to identify open POs, delays, or data discrepancies requiring team follow-up.


• Manage team performance through coaching, feedback, and formal performance evaluations.


• Facilitate training, onboarding, and cross-training across roles within the purchasing team.


• Escalate and resolve supplier-related issues, pricing discrepancies, and process inefficiencies in partnership with internal stakeholders.


• Serve as the key point of contact for internal escalations related to purchasing execution.


• Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Warehouse, and Field Operations to resolve PO/invoice issues.


• Partner with Supply Chain leadership and the SFPH Procurement Team to drive system and process improvements.


• Approve timesheets and PTO requests for direct reports.


• Maintain oversight of purchasing data integrity within Oracle Fusion and Salesforce Lightning.


• Generate reports and respond to management information requests as needed.


• Communicate effectively with vendors, field leaders, and cross-functional teams.


• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

The qualifications listed below are representative of the elements required to perform the job successfully, however in some cases, an equivalent combination of Education, Training, Certifications and Experience may meet the job qualifications.

Education, Training, Certifications:

• Associate's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field, required.


• Bachelor's degree Business, Supply Chain, or related field, preferred. Equivalent work experience may be accepted in lieu of formal education

Experience, Knowledge, Skill Requirements:

• 5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience, strongly preferred.


• 2 years of team leadership or supervisory experience, preferred.


• Experience in fire protection, construction, or field service environments, strongly preferred.


• Prior experience with Oracle Fusion or similar ERP systems, highly preferred.


• Strong understanding of vendor management, inventory support, and purchasing workflows.

Communication Skills:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.


• Ability to lead team discussions, coach direct reports, and communicate across departments.


• Effective in handling escalations and conflict resolution.

Systems and Software Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office.


• Experience with Oracle Fusion and Salesforce Lightning, highly preferred.

Other Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required.


• Must be able to comply with Summit's Drug and Alcohol Policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreements.
