Job summary

GME Supply is seeking a Purchasing Support Specialist to join our Supply Chain team in Atlanta, GA. This role supports purchasing decisions, collaborates with Finance, Operations, Business Development, and Customer Service, and helps drive timely, quality work through planning and execution.

The ideal candidate will learn our in-house software systems, demonstrate strong communication, analytical skills, and a proactive approach to process improvement to sustain growth and profitability.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing or related fields preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required
• Analytical and detail-oriented problem solving
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Willingness to learn in-house software systems

Responsibilities

• Follow up on purchase orders to ensure vendor acknowledgment and ship dates
• Work with vendors to report and correct shipping discrepancies
• Manage pricing updates by compiling and uploading new data
• Identify and share opportunities to streamline processes and eliminate waste
• Monitor incoming and outgoing communications
• Provide colleagues with status updates
• Follow up on ongoing projects
• Monitor open purchase orders for past-due materials
• Assist Sales and Customer Service Departments with projects
• Track metrics and provide reports
• Provide feedback to help navigate ongoing projects
• Take on self-managed projects
