Job summary

Turf Equipment and Supply Company is seeking a strategic Purchasing Manager to lead procurement across our equipment and irrigation distribution operations. You will drive sourcing, negotiations, inventory planning, and supplier performance in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a related field, 8+ years of purchasing experience with leadership responsibilities, and strong experience with ERP systems such as SAP/Infor. Travel to multiple locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
• 8+ years of purchasing experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment, with leadership experience.
• Certificates such as CPSM/CPIM or Six Sigma are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute purchasing strategies for distribution operations and customer demand.
• Source and negotiate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery at competitive prices.
• Collaborate with warehouse, logistics, and sales to forecast inventory needs and manage stock levels.
• Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements across procurement.
• Ensure compliance with policies, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Standardize purchasing policies across locations and the Enterprise.
• Leverage Infor CSD to automate purchasing functions.
• Lead and mentor the Parts and Irrigation purchasing team.

We are seeking a strategic, tech-savvy, hands‑on Purchasing Manager to lead procurement operations within our dynamic equipment and irrigation distribution environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in supply chain management, vendor negotiations, and inventory control, along with advanced analytical and digital skills to drive efficiency and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute purchasing strategies that support distribution operations and customer demand.
• Source and negotiate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods at competitive prices.
• Collaborate with warehouse, logistics, and sales teams to forecast inventory needs and manage stock levels.
• Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
• Implement cost‑saving initiatives and process improvements across the procurement function.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Standardize purchasing policies and procedures across locations and the Enterprise.
• Leverage Infor CSD’s purchasing set‑ups to automate the purchasing functions.
• Lead and mentor the Parts and Irrigation purchasing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and data‑driven decision‑making.

Job Qualifications

Qualifications, Competencies & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
• 8+ years of purchasing experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a management/leadership role.
• Experience in the equipment parts and/or irrigation business, preferred, but not required.
• Strong understanding of inventory management, demand planning, and vendor compliance.
• Supervisory experience, required
• Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPIM, or Six Sigma are preferred.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
• Ability to multi‑task and adjust to workload fluctuations, as required.
• Ability to work overtime including nights and weekends, as required.
• Ability to travel to any one of our locations in VA, MD, PA, NJ, DE, or NY.

Advanced Skillsets Required

• Experience with large ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Infor. Experience in Infor CSD, preferred, but not required.
• Microsoft Excel (Advanced): Pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, macros, and KPI metric creation, required.
• Power Query & Power BI: Data transformation, reporting, and visualization for procurement analytics, preferred.
• AI Tools & Automation: Familiarity with AI‑driven procurement platforms, predictive analytics, and workflow automation. Familiarity with MS Co‑Pilot, preferred.
• Data Analytics: Ability to analyze purchasing trends, supplier performance, and cost metrics to inform strategic decisions, required.
