Job description

Feeling underappreciated where you are? Tired of watching someone else take credit for your work? Ready to stop waiting for a seat at the table and build your own?

Life's Abundance is looking for a rising purchasing professional ready to take the leap into department leadership. This isn't a caretaker role — you'll own our purchasing, inventory, and supply chain operations, lead a team of two Purchasing Coordinators, and have a direct line to executive leadership. You'll be expected to challenge how things have always been done and modernize our purchasing function using the latest tools, automation, and technology.

The ideal candidate has spent 3–5 years in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain, has led a small team or owned a process end-to-end, and is hungry for the role that lets them prove what they can do. If you've been the person quietly making your department run while someone else presented the results — we want to hear from you.

This is an on-site position based in Jupiter, FL.

Key Responsibilities

Build and refine the department's purchasing playbook — with mentorship and support from executive leadership

Lead and supervise the purchasing team (Purchasing Coordinators), establishing priorities, improving workflows, and ensuring accountability.

Develop purchasing policies, procedures, and best practices.

Lead the modernization of our purchasing tech stack — ERP optimization, automation, and AI-assisted forecasting tools

Analyze purchasing trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.

Present purchasing metrics and recommendations to leadership.

Inventory Management

Oversee inventory planning across multiple warehouses and manufacturing locations.

Establish and maintain safety stock levels based on demand forecasting and production requirements.

Monitor inventory turns, obsolete inventory, slow-moving inventory, and stock accuracy.

Partner with Manufacturing and Warehouse teams to ensure adequate inventory for production schedules.

Develop inventory replenishment strategies that balance service levels with working capital.

Identify inventory risks and implement corrective action plans before shortages occur.

Purchasing & Procurement Operations

Oversee the full procurement lifecycle — from demand planning and purchase order creation through receipt, payment, and record-keeping.

Approve purchase orders within established authority limits.

Monitor supplier lead times and proactively resolve delays or shortages.

Ensure purchasing records remain accurate and compliant with FDA requirements and company policies.

Oversee procurement of raw materials, packaging components, finished goods, maintenance supplies, and office materials.

Supply Chain & Logistics Coordination

Partner with logistics providers to ensure timely inbound and outbound shipments.

Coordinate transportation schedules with carriers, warehouses, and manufacturing facilities.

Develop contingency plans for supply disruptions and transportation delays.

Collaborate with warehouse leadership on inventory transfers between facilities.

Monitor freight costs and identify opportunities for transportation efficiencies.

Develop and manage purchasing budgets, including annual budgeting and forecasting.

Monitor purchasing expenditures and identify opportunities for cost reduction.

Analyze material cost trends and recommend pricing strategies.

Partner with Accounting to resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues.

Cross-Functional Leadership

Collaborate with Manufacturing to ensure uninterrupted production.

Work closely with Product Development on sourcing new materials and packaging.

Partner with Technology to improve ERP processes and purchasing automation.

Participate in strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure purchasing activities comply with FDA regulations, GMP requirements, and company policies.

Maintain supplier documentation, certifications, and compliance records.

Develop risk mitigation strategies for critical suppliers and materials.

Ensure business continuity planning for key product categories.

Monitor market conditions affecting material availability and pricing.
