Job summary

Veridity is seeking a Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator to manage day-to-day purchasing and inventory activities onsite in Lenexa, KS. You will work with suppliers and internal teams to maintain inventory accuracy, control costs, and ensure materials are available when needed to support production operations.

You will proactively identify shortages, analyze data, and collaborate with Production, Sales, and Operations to forecast material requirements and resolve supply issues, while maintaining

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years in purchasing or inventory management.
  • Experience creating and tracking purchase orders with suppliers.
  • Experience with inventory counts and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Experience with inventory ERP or similar system; proficient in Excel.

  • Source and evaluate suppliers and obtain competitive quotes.
  • Create, review, and track purchase orders and resolve supplier issues.
  • Build strong supplier relationships to improve cost and lead times.
  • Monitor inventory levels and trigger replenishment per policy.
  • Collaborate with Production, Sales, and Operations to forecast material needs.
  • Coordinate cycle counts, physical inventories, and audits.
  • Communicate risks of shortages or excess inventory.
  • Coordinate inbound shipments and resolve logistics issues.

Job description

Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, the Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator manages day-to-day purchasing and inventory activities to ensure materials are available when needed while maintaining appropriate inventory levels and controlling costs. This role works closely with suppliers and internal teams to stay ahead of material needs, maintain inventory accuracy, resolve supply issues, and support efficient production operations.

This position is located onsite in Lenexa, KS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source and evaluate suppliers, obtain competitive quotes, and support purchasing decisions based on quality, cost, availability, lead time, and business needs.
  • Create, review, and track purchase orders while proactively addressing supplier delays, shortages, pricing discrepancies, damaged goods, and other issues.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships and identify opportunities to improve cost, quality, lead times, and supplier performance.
  • Monitor inventory levels and initiate replenishment based on demand, lead times, min/max levels, reorder points, and other established inventory parameters.
  • Partner with Production, Sales, and Operations to forecast material requirements and ensure materials are available to support production and customer demand.
  • Coordinate cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory audits, investigating and resolving discrepancies as they arise.
  • Monitor material shortages, excess inventory, and slow-moving inventory and proactively communicate potential risks.
  • Coordinate with Logistics and warehouse personnel on inbound shipments, returns, and RMAs, including tracking shipments and resolving transportation or documentation issues.
Required
Experience & Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two or more years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, supply chain, manufacturing operations, or a related role.
  • Experience creating and tracking purchase orders and working directly with suppliers.
  • Experience monitoring inventory levels, conducting inventory counts, and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Experience working with an inventory management system, ERP, or similar business system.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work primarily in a professional office environment with regular interaction in warehouse and production areas.
  • Ability to work around varying temperatures, noise, moving equipment, compressed gases, and other conditions typical of an industrial environment while following required safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, and lift as required.
  • Minimal travel may be required.
