Job summary

Hillside Custom is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to maintain accurate purchase orders and monitor stock to keep optimal inventory levels. You will input order data, communicate with vendors, track shipments, and identify cost savings while coordinating with project managers and engineering to keep production on schedule.

The role requires three years in raw material purchasing, strong negotiation skills, and proficiency with ERP systems.

Qualifications

  • Fluent in machining and fabrication practices.
  • Experience in purchasing and planning within a job shop environment.
  • Systems savvy – ability to become proficient in computer systems and applications.
  • Three (3) years of experience in raw material purchasing.
  • Strong knowledge of production supply chain principles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve desired business results.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Process purchasing requests for work orders and items related to jobs.
  • Identify and purchase items from a BOM (bill of material).
  • Create, maintain, and follow up on purchase orders.
  • Find discrepancies and resolve issues on orders.
  • Find suppliers and negotiate the best prices on quality supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Coordinate payment and delivery details to ensure delivery times are met.
  • Add materials and routings to part numbers in ERP.
  • Pull and sign items out of inventory for jobs as needed.
  • Assist with adjusting min/max and inventory levels in ERP.
  • Assist with issuing materials within ERP.
  • Meet with engineering and sales to review scheduling and new project releases.

The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely purchase order processing and monitoring stock items to ensure proper inventory levels. The Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for inputting order data, communicating with vendors, tracking shipments, and identifying cost savings. This position works closely with project managers and engineering to ensure the production schedule is maintained.
