Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. in Lewiston Woodville, NC, seeks an inventory associate to maintain all parts areas and daily stock levels. You will assist in ordering parts, supplies, and equipment, barcoding items, and ensuring accurate inventory records.

The role requires forklift or Bob Cat operation, manual lifting, and adherence to safety procedures. You may handle monthly closures and perform related clerical tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of how to use parts catalogs.
• Ability to use a calculator for simple math.
• Must be able to climb stairs frequently.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Operate Bob Cat / forklift and other rental machinery.
• Keep work areas clean and neat at all times.
• Self-starter with minimal supervision.
• Assess situations and take appropriate action.
• Follow safety rules and use equipment safely.
• Hazards may include cuts, burns, slips and trips.

• Complete all paperwork daily.
• All parts areas are to be kept neat and clean.
• Bar code and label parts upon arrival.
• Arrange and store parts in appropriate bins.
• Order parts when needed and ensure stock is in appropriate and designated location.
• Keep accurate inventory records and assist in completing month-end reports.
• Enter inventory count in automated system.
• Count and maintain boiler fuel inventory and other crucial items.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to read and write.

• Must be able to climb 1 to 2 flights of stairs frequently.
• Ability to lift 75 lbs.
• Able to operate a "Bob Cat"/case loader and forklift and other rental machinery
• Maintain all working areas by keeping them clean and neat at all times
• Must be a self-starter and operate this department with a minimum of supervision
• Able to assess a situation and formulate a proper course of action
• Use equipment in a safe manner as instructed by management
• Work safely and observe all safety rules
• Hazards may and include, but are not limited to cuts, burns, slips and trips

Preferred Qualifications

• Must be willing to work all shifts, over-time and weekends as needed.
• Expected to perform other duties as assigned.
