Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to support hospital procurement, requisitions, and purchase orders. You will help maintain optimal inventory, source clinical supplies, and negotiate with vendors to ensure timely, cost-effective purchases that keep departments operating smoothly.

In this role you will work closely with hospital teams, verify requisitions, track orders, and uphold compliance with purchasing policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• 2–3 years hospital supply and purchasing experience or related field is beneficial.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process hospital and departmental requisitions and purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels per hospital procedures while controlling supplies and equipment.
• Negotiate prices and contracts with outside vendors as required.
• Order medical and clinical supplies for the hospital.
• Oversee the purchase order process for hospital supplies.
