Stand out for this role — generate a tailored resume and cover letter in about a minute.
Craft Master Custom Pools in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking a full-time Purchasing professional to own material spend from order to site. You will manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms, and maintain strict inventory discipline to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
You will coordinate deliveries, track costs by category, ensure accurate job costing in our system, and supervise warehouse layout and cycle counts.
Craft Master Custom Pools has been building custom gunite pools in Southeast Florida since 1994 — more than 3,000 pools across Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Broward counties.
This is a legacy company under new ownership, and we are writing our playbook one day at a time. The reputation and the craft are thirty years old; the systems around them are being built right now, by us, this year. In this role that is unusually literal — there is no purchasing function to inherit and no inventory system to take over. You are building both.
That is either exactly the job you want or exactly the one you don't, and we would rather you know which before you apply.
You own every dollar we spend on material and equipment, and every piece of it from the moment it is ordered until the moment a crew uses it.
We buy from Horner, three SCP branches, Stoneline, Heritage, Home Depot and the equipment manufacturers, and nobody owns that spend. Nobody negotiates our terms. Nobody tracks what we already have before we buy it again. Material shows up late, or early and in the way, or twice.
That costs us twice over. It costs margin directly, and it costs schedule — because in a subcontracted business, a trade partner who arrives to a site with no material does not wait around. They go to the next builder and come back when they can.
So this is not a clerical buying job. You are one of the two or three people who most directly control whether our jobs finish on time and at the margin we sold them at.
Vendor relationships and pricing. You own the commercial relationship with every supplier. You negotiate terms, you consolidate spend where consolidating gets us a better number, and you keep a second source for anything that would stop a job.
Pool equipment, tile, coping, plaster, decking material, plumbing and electrical components. Right product, right job, right date.
Material lands on site when the trade arrives — not three weeks early blocking a driveway, not three days late. You work hand in glove with our Project Scheduler on this; their calendar drives your delivery dates.
You track material cost as a percentage of contract value, by category, every month. When a category drifts, you are the one who notices and says so.
Every purchase is coded to the right job in JobTread. Our job-level margin reporting is only as good as this, and right now it is not good enough.
Layout, organization, cleanliness, safety. Someone should be able to find any item in under two minutes without asking you.
A real count of what we hold, maintained continuously, with cycle counts rather than one painful annual scramble. Target is 98% accuracy on tracked items.
Nothing is received without being checked against the purchase order. Short shipments, wrong items and damage get caught at the dock, not at the pool.
Material is pulled and staged by job, so a crew or sub picks up a complete kit rather than hunting. You know what left, when, and for which job.
You chase the credits we are owed. You manage the warranty parts flow with our Service department, including manufacturer reimbursements.
You track what we own, where it is, and what condition it is in.
