Job description

Purchasing Analyst – GIS and GCB Logistics

Support the HICO procurement team and project managers in purchasing GIS (gas insulated switchgear) and GCB (gas circuit breaker) logistics services within the Product and EPC markets. Assist the Sales team at bid stage by providing cost estimates. Manage the RFQ process to align with project timelines and budgets. Serve as a liaison between subcontractors/suppliers and HICO project management and procurement teams. Facilitate qualification of new subcontractors and engage project stakeholders in selecting subcontractors during RFQ processes. Analyze RFQ responses and summarize results for internal stakeholders. Oversee subcontractor invoice processing and documentation to ensure accuracy. Support logistics and EPC documentation control. Contribute to standardizing RFQ processes and ensure subcontractor adherence to project checklists. Develop and maintain tools, reports, and best practices for the Procurement Team. Perform additional purchasing functions as needed.

  • Support qualification of logistics subcontractors and suppliers
  • Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance and participate in reviews
  • Provide cost estimates during bid stages
  • Create and track RFQs and responses
  • Update internal databases with purchasing details
  • Maintain transportation tracking spreadsheets
  • Conduct market research on pricing trends
  • Evaluate bids and negotiate with vendors
  • Maintain records of invoices, contracts, and project documents
  • Build reports and analyze KPIs for the Purchasing department
Requirements:
  • Report to the Pittsburgh, PA headquarters
  • Travel 0-10%
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or engineering preferred
  • Experience with over-the-road transportation preferred
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience
  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
