Job summary

Loenbro LLC is seeking a Purchasing Agent in Leander, TX to source and procure electrical materials and equipment for ongoing projects. The role emphasizes cost-effective supply chains, supplier negotiation, and adherence to quality standards.

You will work with project managers and engineers to understand requirements, manage orders, and maintain accurate procurement documentation. A strong negotiation background and experience with procurement software are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in purchasing related field.
• Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent in electrical/ construction industries.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Vendor selection: Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate terms and conditions, and establish vendor relationships.
• Purchasing: Place orders for electrical materials and equipment to meet project needs while optimizing cost.
• Inventory management: Maintain records, track usage, replenish stock, reduce shortages and excess.
• Cost control: Monitor pricing trends, negotiate favorable terms, implement cost-saving strategies.
• Quality assurance: Ensure materials/equipment meet standards in collaboration with QA team.
• Documentation: Maintain records of POs, invoices, and vendor contracts.
• Communication: Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and team members.

Job Summary
Loenbro is seeking a Purchasing Agent to play a crucial role in our procurement process. The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for sourcing and procuring materials and equipment essential for our electrical projects, ensuring that we maintain cost-effective and efficient supply chains while adhering to quality standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual with strong negotiation skills and an understanding of electrical materials.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Vendor Selection: Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate terms and conditions, and establish relationships with vendors to ensure reliable and cost-effective sources of materials and equipment.
• Purchasing: Place orders for electrical materials, equipment, and supplies in a timely manner to meet project requirements while optimizing cost efficiency.
• Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, track usage, and replenish stock as needed to prevent shortages and reduce excess inventory.
• Cost Control: Monitor and analyze pricing trends, negotiate favorable terms, and implement cost-saving strategies to maximize profitability and reduce expenses.
• Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure that purchased materials and equipment meet the required standards and specifications.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all procurement activities, including purchase orders, invoices, and vendor contracts.
• Communication: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to understand project requirements and coordinate procurement efforts accordingly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred; or a minimum of ten years of purchasing experience in lieu of a degree.
• Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar procurement role within the electrical or construction industries.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
