Job summary

Sargent Electric Company in Lewiston, ME is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to support electrical construction projects from our Lewiston office. This role ensures materials, equipment, and services are procured accurately, competitively, and on schedule.

You will partner with Project Managers to plan purchasing strategies, issue purchase orders and subcontracts, negotiate terms, and track required documentation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of purchasing or project support experience in the electrical industry preferred.
• Experience with electrical materials, equipment, and procurement processes.
• Low voltage or wireless experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with internal teams (Fleet, Logistics, Project Teams) on equipment and material needs.
• Maintain accurate data in project and cost systems.
• Support cost control and estimating initiatives through accurate reporting and insights.

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to support our electrical construction projects from our Lewiston, ME office. This role is critical to ensuring materials, equipment, and services are procured accurately, competitively, and on schedule.

What You’ll Do:

Required Experience:

To be considered for this role, candidates must have prior experience working for either:

• An electrical contractor, or
• An electrical distributor

with demonstrated knowledge of electrical materials, equipment, and procurement processes.

Additional Qualifications:

• 2+ years of purchasing or project support experience in the electrical industry preferred

• Low voltage or wireless experience preferred
