Job summary

Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring a Purchasing Agent in Florence, KY for our client. This role manages the purchasing process, coordinates suppliers, issues purchase orders, maintains inventory, and ensures timely procurement to support production and operations.

Typical day includes issuing POs, forecasting needs, managing supplier performance, and collaborating with internal teams. 1st shift, full-time, temp-to-hire with travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Two-year technical degree or related training preferred.
  • 0–4 years of Purchasing or related experience.
  • Data gathering and analysis experience is helpful.
  • Good time management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Must be adaptable to changing situations and requirements.
  • Must be able to work both independently and as a team.
  • Must have excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Domestic and international travel sometimes required.

Responsibilities

  • Issue and manage purchase orders to various suppliers for production and expense items.
  • Ensure product availability and manage inventory levels to support production.
  • Forecast future needs to suppliers to ensure availability at lowest landed cost.
  • Coordinate supplier efforts with engineering for effective communication.
  • Manage supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, pricing, and product offering.
  • Work with internal customers to ensure satisfaction and assist material flow.
  • Complete purchasing through receipt and invoice payment processes.
  • Provide accurate and timely delivery information for all items purchased.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports as required.
  • Adhere to ISO policies and corporate safety procedures.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Job Brief


Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring a Purchasing Agent for our client. This job is responsible for managing the purchasing process by coordinating suppliers, issuing purchase orders, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring the timely procurement of materials to support production and business operations.


What’s a Typical Day Like?



  • Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.

  • Issue and manage purchase orders to various suppliers for production and expense related items.

  • Ensure product availability to properly support production while managing inventory level.

  • Forecast future needs to suppliers to ensure product availability at lowest landed cost.

  • Coordinate efforts of suppliers with engineering to ensure effective communication.

  • Manage supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, pricing, and product offering.

  • Work closely with and support internal customers to ensure satisfaction.

  • Work closely with material handling department to ensure efficient flow of materials.

  • Ensure completion of purchasing effort through all steps including receipt and invoice payment.

  • Provide accurate and timely delivery information for all items or services purchased.

  • Prepare and submit detailed reports as required.

  • Embrace and learn relevant new technology as it becomes available.

  • Adhere to corporate ISO policies and guidelines.

  • Assume additional responsibilities to cover for material control teammates as required.

  • Represent Mazak Corporation in a professional manner.

  • Assist in the physical inventory effort.

  • Project management is sometimes required.

  • Adherence to all corporate safety procedures is required.

  • Domestic and international travel sometimes required.


What Are the Requirements of the Job?



  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Two-year technical degree, trade school certification or other related training preferred.

  • 0 – 4 years of Purchasing or related experience.

  • Data gathering and analysis experience is helpful.

  • Good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills required.

  • Must be adaptable to changing situations and requirements.

  • Must be able to work both independently and as a team.

  • Must have excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

  • Successful candidates will be able to work under pressure and deadlines.

  • High level of ethics and integrity is required.

  • Previous negotiation skills are helpful.

  • Must have good initiative and manage your responsibilities independently.

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to move or lift up to 50+ lbs.

  • Ability to reach, grasp, hold, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel.

  • Ability to utilize hand/eye coordination.

  • Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time
