Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Agent for its on-site Purchasing Department in San Ramon, CA.

The role involves bidding on new projects, maintaining scopes of work, tracking blueprints and changes, and ensuring cost control. The position offers an annual compensation of $90,000–$117,000 with a discretionary bonus, commensurate with experience. Qualifying candidates will typically hold a Bachelor's degree or have related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Solicit bids from subcontractors.
• Pre-qualify subcontractors to ensure capability and reliability.
• Setup and monitor option costs and sales prices on projects.
• Maintain and update current budgets and cost baselines.
• Spread revised bids and obtain approval for price increases.
• Prepare direct costs analysis and variances for review by management.
• Input original Direct Costs budget into project systems.
• Execute lot starts and finalize unit cost proofs.

The right candidate will bid on new projects, maintain scopes of work, track blueprints and design changes, etc. The annual compensation for this role is $90,000 - $117,000, including a discretionary bonus structure, commensurate with experience. This position is on site, Monday through Friday in our San Ramon office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Solicit bids
• Pre-qualify subcontractors
