Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Agent for the Purchasing Department to source, negotiate, and contract house line subcontracts for assigned lots and communities.

The role evaluates price, quality, availability and reliability of materials and subcontractors, and manages budgets, bid comparisons, and cost analyses to support construction of homes. Bonus eligible with salary range $60,000-$70,000.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university, or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with sourcing, negotiating, and contracting subcontractors for building homes.

Responsibilities

• Solicit multiple bids for every category needed to build homes in assigned communities
• Evaluate subcontractors on quality, schedule adherence, pricing
• Setup, compare, and monitor option costs and sales prices
• Maintain and update current budgets
• Spread revised bids and obtain approval for any price increases
• Prepare direct costs analysis and variances for review
• Input original Direct Costs budget
• Execute lot starts and final proof all unit costs

Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Purchasing Agent for their Purchasing Department. The right candidate will source, negotiate, and contract all house line subcontracts for assigned lots/communities for the division.

The Purchasing Agent evaluates price, quality, availability and reliability when choosing materials and subcontractors to construct homes. Responsible for negotiating price and determining the availability of materials and negotiating contracts to secure reliable subcontractors.

Salary Range

$60,000-$70,000, based on experience. This position is bonus eligible.
